Karaoke Pro 1.023 started out as an upgrade to KHPro 4.008. However, it has grown into a professional production tool that is different KHP 4.008. It allows creating professional karaoke CDG songs with multi-colored, multi-font, non-sweeping text lines in Title pages, solo or duet lyrics highlighting to the music and Credits pages at the end just like Title pages.
Karaoke Pro 1.023 far exceeds the features of our Karaoke Pro Workstation that sold for $14,000 in 1999. KPro creates karaoke CDG songs that follow the International CD+Graphics specification that will play in all known Karaoke Player Machines.
When it comes to software, what is important is who can use it, and how fast can you create a CDG song that in your mind is... perfect! MTU software is designed specifically for non technical users... for home or professional use. We have perfected CD+G production since 1996.

Creating Professional Karaoke CDG Songs
Karaoke Pro name change
Karaoke Pro 1.023 started out as an upgrade to Karaoke Pro 4.008 (which was Karaoke Home Producer before version 4.008). However, with all the new features, we had to evolve a new interface (especially for creating Duet songs). The result is a different program with expansion capabilities for the future. Thus, we renamed Karaoke Pro 4.008 back to Karaoke Home Producer 4.008 to make it clear this is the product for home users, and Karaoke Pro is our name for this new program designed for Professionals. Future upgrades will include special modules to protect songs, export them in Hoster´s KMA file format, and more.
Create a project file
Karaoke Pro creates a project for each song to save your work. You can finish the song or open a project at any time and make changes. You can copy a project to make major changes from the original. When done, simply export your Karaoke CDG song and use Microstudio(optional) to assemble and write it with other songs as a master karaoke cdg disc for production.
Select Settings
You can select all the parameters that control the appearance of your song. Each song is a continuous project of pages. Title pages will normally contain different fonts, colors, graphic images and text lines that do not highlight to the music. You can select from 4,096 CDG colors, any TrueType 1-byte or Unicode 2-byte font, point size and other text attributes, text horizontal and vertical positioning and graphic images and fade in/out parameters. Select to highlight the words, background or no sweep at all. Have lines continuously replace after they highlight, or force them to appear on new pages. Create solo karaoke cdg songs, or create duet songs with Singer 1, Singer 2 and Both singing together, all with separate colors and formatting. Any parameter can change before exporting your song to your hard drive. You can save projects, save as a new project, open them to edit the lyric characters, words, lines, pages, highlight positioning, or change selections and export a new version of your song. You can even work on multiple songs at the same time.
Add the Music
Karaoke music can be any .wav file on your hard drive. Some music sources are: import from Audio CDs or Karaoke CDGs with Microstudio, use Vogone to reduce the vocals, have a musician create it, synthesize it from MIDI files, or buy music without the vocals. If you add a Title page, the music and lyrics will automatically delay so the lyrics start after the Title Page, and continue until a Credits Page appears. You do not need an audio editor program with Karaoke Pro.
Import or Enter the Lyrics
The song lyrics can import from a file prepared by an editor, or downloaded over the Internet, or enter them directly in the Text Edit Screen. They appear exactly as they will in the finished song, including colors, fonts, point sizes, graphics, etc. After synchronizing the lyrics to the music you can edit any misspellings and even add or remove words and change the lines they are on... within reason. Massive changes require resychronizing the lyrics to the music. You can select to have the lyrics draw from left to right, or right to left.
Place the Lyrics to Music
With Karaoke Pro, synchronizing the lyrics to the music is done while playing the music. You simply tap the Spacebar key where each word is to start highlighting. You can select multiple words to join so they place as one (very nice for fast songs). Tapping the Ctrl key stops the highlighting where the singers are to pause. KPro automatically creates the professional variable speed highlighting to make it easy to sing, or you can select to have each word sweep, or sweep an entire line when the first word is to be sung. You can synchronize the lyrics to music with the vocal, then replace with vocal reduced music, or create songs with and without vocals.
Adjust the Synchronization
After you synchronize the lyrics, click the Adjust Tab, and select to Audition play. If you see a word highlighting that is not in perfect sync, tap the spacebar to stop play and automatically select that word. The Adjust Play buttons allow loop playing on a specified number of words or seconds before and after the selected word. As you see how the start of the highlighting needs adjusting, simply tap the < and > keys to visually adjust them while looping on that area. Use the Ctrl key with them to adjust the highlight ending. Continue playing until you find another word that needs adjusting. You can randomly start play at any point to view the highlighting.
The Advance sweep control moves all the lyrics to start highlighting sooner to the music. This removes your response time when tapping in the lyrics, and makes the highlighting start before the singer is to start so they are ready to sing with the music. With KPro you will create perfectly synchronized songs every time.
MTU is the first in the world to ship a digital audio workstation. We are expert at displaying audio waveforms and editing. However, when synchronizing karaoke lyrics to music, viewing a waveform will cause you to damage the synchronization! KPro does not show a waveform because it is expertly engineered to insure you will get every word in perfect sync, while you simply focus your mind like a singer.
Karaoke Player
Click the Play button to preview your song exactly as it will appear in a Karaoke Player Machine. The highlighting appears just like it will in your final song.
Write a CDG Disc
To write your songs to a CD Burner, use the Microstudio software that comes with the Karaoke Suite #4 (or optionally available). You can assemble songs with others into the order you want on the master disc. To write your songs as a Karaoke CDG disc, you will need a CDG certified CD Burner. Our Microstudio free demo allows you to test your CDR to see if it can read and write the CDG disc format, or prove you need to purchase a new CDG Certified burner.
